The tasks of PEIK: - education, training, - support for research and development, - provision of market information and technology transfer from laboratories and hospital / clinical departments to industrial innovation, - management of the innovation cluster, - provision of incubator tasks.

From September 2011, we had the opportunity to fully operate the Industrial Park of Pécs as an Innovation Center.

In the framework of the „Realization of Joint Investments and Increasing the Competitiveness of the Biotechnology Innovation Cluster” DDOP-1.1.3-11-2011-0009 tender, the faster and more competitive utilization of already completed, ongoing and future planned developments of PEIK Zrt could realise with a new technological platform wihich allows further R + D + I activities and a cell and tissue culture laboratory with small series production capacity which supports the market penetration of the in vitro diagnostic medical devices, one of the most important product category.

The short fom about Pécs Healthcare Innovation Center Ltd. (PEIK) in the About Us menu are used with the permission of Univerity of Pécs and UNIV Television.

The formation of the Biotechnology Innovation Base Cluster operating in the South Transdanubia region of Hungary was based on the cooperation of 5 small enterprises in the 1990s. The cooperation agreement of the cluster was signed by 10 founding members on December 10, 2005, and in 2008 for the first time it received the status of an accredited innovation cluster with 16 members, which was continuously renewed in 2011, 2014 and 2017. Today, with 42 members, it is the country’s first fourth-accredited cluster. Initially, the cluster consisted of companies working in the field of biotechnology, which has now been supplemented by small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the field of bioinformatics, engineering and food industry to serve emerging needs.
